We attended an intimate gathering at a friend’s home for New Years Eve. I wore a cashmere cardigan (this one to be exact) over Glenna. The cashmere was cuddly and soft, and the outfit appropriate for the occasion, but I felt decidedly laid back while wearing it.
During the fall I enjoyed wearing a different cashmere cardigan over Justina, and while that outfit too had a casual vibe, it also had a put-together factor given to it by Justina’s collar, cuffs and crisp cotton fabric.
So how does one make cashmere look crisp and put together? Consider the style of the cashmere – a hooded poncho conveys a different message than a structured cardigan with a shawl collar and button front (collars lend an air of authority to your persona). And pair your cashmere cardigan with a crisp ‘button-down’ shirt. Go for this look – a boyfriend cardi over Emma.
How about you? What do you pair with your cashmere toppers to make them more professional and smart?

I meant to comment on this earlier. Do you think the issue is really cashmere, or is it the style of the cardigan?
