Summer Swimsuits 2012

Yes, it is mid June and I am late getting on the swim suit bandwagon for the summer. Honestly, I was waiting until a need arrived and of course once the occasion for a nice, presentable, public suit presented itself, I was left feeling grossly out of date in my (several years) old suit.

Thus the hunt began. Of course I visited Bravissimo online. Before discovering Lions Lair, I bought my suits from Bravissimo. Their private label Copacabana tankini caught my eye this year. I appreciate the definition it gives to the bust area, but after reading the reviews I wasn’t willing to order it because of the risk it wouldn’t fit. Le Sigh …

My current best suit is a Tara Grinna tankini I purchased from Lions Lair. This picture is so pretty (do you notice that we’ve used the same model {Shannon Hughes} before too? She is awesome.). I really like the lengthening top with the defined bust and waist embellishment. The high contrast black and white print is super classic, too. Would be perfect paired with a wide brim straw hat and a mojito in hand!

Somehow I stumbled upon Seafolly while shopping for bust and body friendly suits. I probably found them through Nordstrom now that I think about it. Seafolly is an Australian label that makes D and DD suits. Their suits are soft-cup, meaning they have no underwire in them. Most of my current suits are underwire, so I wanted to try something different.

This is the suit I finally ordered after trying it on in a size that wasn’t mine at Nordstrom. The denim blue is really nice and fresher than black. I have yet to wear it, which is the true test. Wish me luck!
